For coffee roasters
Your coffee. Your recipe. From the first cup.
You know best how your espresso should taste. With Mullino you capture the recipe, with machine, grinder and every setting, and hand it to your customers with the bag.
In planning We're looking for pilot roasters who want a say from day one.

The problem
New bag, new dial-in.
Every coffee behaves differently. At home the guessing starts: too sour, too bitter, try again. And those first cups reflect on your coffee, not on the grinder.
5 shots
is what a new coffee often takes to dial in. Five times your customer tastes your coffee at its worst.
1/3 of the bag
is already used up at 18 g a shot before your coffee tastes the way you roasted it.
1 impression
The first sip decides whether someone buys again. A sour, badly dialed shot looks like a bad coffee.
How it works
You dial in. Your customers start right.
-
Capture the recipe
You dial in your coffee at the roastery and save the result in Mullino: dose, yield, time, temperature and the settings of your machine and grinder. Plus your taste goal, for example “caramel, round, low acidity”.
-
Ship it with the bag
As a QR code on the label, on a recipe card or as a link in your web shop. New harvest or a different roast profile? You update the recipe and the code stays the same.
-
Customer starts right
Scan, and Mullino takes your recipe as the starting point. If your customer has a different machine or grinder, Mullino converts as well as it can and says honestly where it's estimating. From there, the suggestions help in small steps.
What's in it for you
Happy customers come back to you.
- Customers who come backPeople who enjoy your coffee the way you meant it from the start buy their next bag from you again.
- Room for new coffeesCustomers who know dialing in will work are happy to try your light roast or the new seasonal coffee instead of sticking to the usual.
- Your coffee as you meant itYour customers taste what you had in mind when roasting, not the result of a guessing game.
- Fewer “doesn't taste right”“Why is your espresso so sour?” is answered by the recipe before anyone asks. Your customer adjusts the grind instead of blaming your beans.
- Fits your customers' gearMullino knows the settings of over 60 machines and grinders, from Breville/Sage to the Linea Micra.
- Your name on the recipeThe recipe shows which roaster it comes from, with a link to your shop.
To be honest
We're building this right now.
Mullino is in beta for iPhone. Passing recipes on to customers is in planning, and we'd like to shape it together with a few roasters: what belongs on the recipe, what the code on the bag looks like, what you need day to day.

Questions from roasters
What you should know.
Do my customers need an account?
The plan is: no. Opening a recipe only needs the app. Your customers' shots stay on their iPhone.
What if my customer has different equipment?
Dose, yield, time and temperature carry over directly. No app can translate a grind setting exactly from one grinder to another. So Mullino uses your recipe as the target and guides your customer there in a few shots.
What does it cost?
For pilot roasters we'll agree on terms together. Opening a recipe is meant to be free for your customers.
Does it work for filter coffee too?
Mullino is built for espresso. Filter coffee could come later. Let us know if it matters to you.
